We're open for business

I'm not yet done with the book but, but I'm loving every word of it. Far more than I expected since I've always been more interested in the Psy side of the story than the Changling side and PoP has been described as a Pack centered book.

Just finished the book, and I loved it. Drew was such a sweetheart and Indigo was a great foil to his playful personality. And now I really want Hawke and Sienna's (has to be, right?) book.

It was a great romance I love both characters Drew is perfect strong, charming, brave yet adorable and funny too. Yet I wouldn't have picked them as a couple.

I liked meeting more of the Snow Dancer pack and learning more of the main characters background.

Pack life is certainly very complex and I have to say I'm even more of a fan of the Snowdancers than I was prior to this book.

I loved seeing the transformation in Judd it was truely amazing as is Sienna and I''m pleased she and Kit are together now even though she still has feeling for Hawke and he for her as I've always found the tension between them painful.

I'm more convinced than ever that Kaleb is the Ghost now as when Judd asked him if there was one person he would want to live he admitted there was, too much of a coincidence that he has been searching for a women every day for years.

I liked the hinted at tension between Lara and Walker and also that Aden was mentioned as the possible new leader of the Arrows. (I would love to see more of both Aden and Vasic).

Anthony and Nikita working with the Snowdancer and Dark River pack to defend their terriotories was predictable and I can't wait for the foreseen bloodshed in Kiss of Snow and to see the birth of Sascha's baby.

I think it was cool that Nalini gave subtle updates on some of the other characters, Tejan, the Hawkes, Max & Sophia, Lucas and Sascha and Tanique and that she has introduced more of the second generation.

I'm still not sold on Sienna and Hawke as a couple though as I really liked her with Kit and it just doesn't feel right Hawke being mated with her.

I think predictably Sienna, Judd and the Arrows will save the day in Kiss of Snow but I can't really say that I want any of the major characters to die.

It's also stongly hinted at in the book that Nikita is an E-psy too although she denies it

And it's kind of hinted that the previous bloodshed in the Snowdancer pack where Hawke lost his mate and the Kincaids their parents was a Psy attack because they had Psy in the pack, my theory is that Hawkes 'dead' mate was a PSy as well as a Snowdancer.

I've long thought that Nikita has some E in her skill set but if that is the case, how would she be able to come off as being so cold? Every character that has met her has described her as being extremely cold. Colder than stone, even.

I have no idea on an answer to that sadly.

Read it. Loved it.

PS: so few Hawke Sienna scenes? ..sigh,,,well, atleast they were significant...

Also, Lara and Walker? i knew that was coming...lol..not really, but i do like the idea of it..

I don't know about Nikita being an E but I have looked and looked and I don't find anywhere in the books where it specifically says that Nikita gives off the "metallic stink" most psy do if they are unable to break silence. So I'm thinking she at least has some redeeming qualities in there somewhere.

Okay LOVE the idea of Lara and WALKER. Walker, who in my opinion, very very sexy. I loved the cliffhanger in the end. I LOVED the meeting with Anthony and Nikita and SD and DR. That was awesome! All of them teaming up to fight the enemy. And when Anthony started to talk about the visions all the F-psy had about the upcoming bloodshed and the "holocaust" I got CHILLS.

It was adroable when Ria started to talk about Lucas's reaction to her pregnancy. That was hilarous! What IS Lucas going to do when she's on maternity leave?

I enjoyed reading the Hawke & Sienna scenes. I felt so sorry for Sienna having to deal with all these emotions and her shields breaking down. And Hawke...poor Hawke. He's trying to control his wolf, but in end he's got to give in. *squeals* I love them together. I thought it was werid in the beginning, but for some reason after reading everything so far, I'm convinced they work. I'm so excited for KoS. Summer time is just too FAR for me!

You make me wish I've the book with me right now!!! I want to read about Hawke and Sienna!

I love, love, loved the few Hawke and Sienna scenes we got. Till this point in the series, all we know is that Sienna has a crush on Hawke and he feels something for her. But that one scene where they walked together in silence really spoke to me. It showed how deep their feelings are for one another.

Also, I had felt earlier that Nikita might not really be Silent. And this book really confirms that. For some reason, I am now worried that she will not last beyond KoS.

Kaleb as ghost - Wouldn't Judd identify him then? Do we know whether Judd has physically seen Kaleb? Maybe thats why he can't identify him..

We know that the first story arc ends here. Does anyone else know where we are headed with the second one? I am hoping for Kaleb, Lara, Riaz, Kit, Vasic and Bowen.

Finally, I loved the dynamic between Indigo and Drew. Nalini did an awesome job in showing the difference in age, dominance and personality and how it can affect the relationship.

There was an interesting mention of Walker and Lara being seen side by side with Lara being SERIOUSLY pissed at something (but she wouldn't say what). Looks like whoever predicted that they would end up together was spot on.

On a side note: I think I'm the only one who believes Nikita has a "core of pure poison." I seriously doubt she's going to break silence. She's just as evil as Enrique...except he's a sociopath and everything she does is always for power, or for her own benefit. I think that's why I like Nikita. She's just evil and she doesn't change. I love bada** characters but when they change into "good" it totally kills it for me. She's all about power and I think it should stay that way. It gives her character a bit more...appeal? Or maybe I'm just crazy. *shrugs*

@Katherine! SO RIGHT! Whoever predicted Lara & Walker were spot on! I admit I wanted Indigo and Walker, but Nalini convinced me otherwise with PoP. Lara and Walker...so cute!! I loved how Nalini states how "close" Walker was standing with Lara, with her poking him in the chest angrily. *squeals* PLUS, i would love to see a book on D'Arn and Sing Lui.

That reminds me...Riaz. *sigh* I felt so bad for him! I hope he does find happiness in his life. I really do. =[

I bet we will see Riaz find love in the second arc. Maybe not a mate, but hopefully a close companion.

I have my fingers crossed for that. But it'll be hard...loving someone despite knowing they love someone else. *heartbreak*

Thing is, I don't believe that there is just one somebody for someone. There may not be very many, but if there was just *one* person then matings would be vanishingly rare.

Case in point: Sienna and Hawke.

Oh, you're killing me!! I want the book so much! Just called the bookstore I usually frequent few days ago and they said they hadn't received the book yet (URGH!) I'm going to do some books shopping next week and will not rest until I have the book in my possession!

Remember what she told Sascha is the first book "Don't be anything but perfect....", she is practicing what she preaches. And she also stated that the E skill has skipped generations too...

I don't know about that. I still think these two are mates. The mate Hawke lost in childhood might not have been his true mate. I think we need more backstory on this. Also remember, in the last Q/A Nalini hosted, when asked if we will see couples without a mating bond. She said, sort of or something like that, but never said yes or no to that.

As for Riaz, I think he will still end up with his mate. This may sound horrible, but after I read the scene that revealed his mate was married, I just assumed her husband would die tragically, and he would be there for her and eventually they would get together.

As for Hawke and Sienna and the mate debate. I've always felt that Hawke did lose his Changeling mate, but I think Hawke is Sienna's psy-mate, in the way Nora and Dorian's son (can't remember his name) are psy-mates. I think Sienna has been able to survive as an X-psy, unlike all the others, because she has such a strong counterpart in Hawke, even though they aren't aware of it yet. That's why I think they are perfect for each other, instead of her and Kit. Kit is on his way to being an alpha, but he is not strong enough yet. Hawke definitely is, and can therefore withstand Sienna's power. I definitely think that's what Nalini means about a "somewhat mate."

Oh yeah, it may sound like i'm a horrible person, but i would LOVE for Riaz to end up with his mate. The husband doesn't have to die, exactly, there are many scenarios to be explored here and it makes it 100% more interesting. I want Riaz to have his book!

I didn't much like him at firsts, but when he mentioned about finding his mate --- my heart broke for him, I was instantly Team Riaz at that moment. (of course, not with Indigo).

For me, that scene didn't say that Nikita was an E-psy. She wasn't admitting to that. She was admitting to the fact that the E-gene is on her family (something we already knew), but that wasn't public knowledge or advertise as the F-gene in the Nightstar family. Nikita was admitting to having a 'defective' gene in her family. That was all. NOT that she has E-powers. If she did, she wouldn't be forced to rule through deception and venom and all that, but use her powers in her favor. (as we know E-psy s tended to rule because people simply followed them).
Just like Anthony is not a Foreseer, though the Nightstars tend to. Or is he?
