So I just read the blurb of Dev's book blurb. What are your thoughts on the female lead?

Didn't she say somewhere that this was someone we'd seen before?

Her name is Katya Haas, but Nalini said there was a twist to her name

Wasn't the assistant to Ashaya named Eakaterina? Isn't Katya a nickname for that? Or am I reaching?

Yeah, a few others have mentioned that as well. It's the best theory I've heard.

Ekaterina is dead. She was killed in the lab explosion that Ming engineered.

She said it was someone we *knew* but didn't know. I don't think we really know Ekaterina for her to be the heroine.

Okay and I really wanted it to be Nikita.

Do we know for certain that she's dead? As far as the council knows, the Laurens are dead.

But Ekaterina was an M-Psy working on the implant protocal. I'm having trouble reconciling that with a cold blooded pre-programmed killer.

Knowing Ming Labon like we do, I wouldn't put it past him to use Ekaterina in the way described in the blurb. I think it could be her.

Katya -> Ekaterina

May be ...but it would be nice.

Katya Haas is an interesting name. Katya is a Russian name, and Haas is a dutch name.

Also, the name is an anagram of Ashaya & Kat. I'm fairly certain it's Ekaterina (after first thinking it might have been Amara) because the title alludes to fire.
