Theme songs... Empty Theme songs...

Post by Fuarie Tue May 26, 2009 2:49 pm

I took a road trip with my loveable hubby recently and I was reading MtP while he was driving...then a Red Hot Chili peppers song came on and all I could think about is how the sound reminded me of Clay.

What other songs or bands would fit the other characters? Discuss away!

Nice topic idea Fuarie!

Gregorian chants for Judd

"Everybody want to rule the world" for Krychek (sp?)

"Battle for Mosque Al Amu" for Human Alliance (as a group)

That's all I can come up with off the top of my head. I'm going to have fun mulling this one over.

First thing that popped into my head: Ming and the first movement of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana "Fortuna, Imperatrix Mundi (O Fortuna)". The Carmina Burana is just perfect for evil characters.

Lucas and, um, some Monty Alexander.

As for the others, man, it's kind of hard coming up with something.

I see the Psy Council whenever I listen to the Priests from JC Superstar.

Also see the NetMind when I hear Evanescence Hello from the Fallen album.

Its too bad my sister hasn't read these books. She's a music addict. If anybody could assign a song to each and every character it would be Jennifer.

Gravity by Sara Bareilles for Hawke and Sienna. It just fits their angsty/passionate relationship so well.

"Never Gonna Let you Go" for Clay and Tally.

If this song doesn't fit them to a T I don't know what would,

I love this song Battle flag for the over all series but I also feel it for Sienna. The song has this underlining feel of build up which I feel fits for the Psy/changeling war and for whatever is going to happen with Sienna. (The wait is killing me by the way)

There is also this song called Creepshow but Kerli which I love. It makes me think of a bunch of changelings at a party or club because at one point her voice sounds inhuman like a meow.

Then for Sienna and Hawk Linkin Parks "Don't Stay"

I have actually spent so much time on the Psy/ Changeling Soundtrack that it's almost a playlist on my iPod.

Awesome choices! I think "Don't Stay" fits Sienna and Hawk perfectly.

I like this song for the period of time after Mercy and Riley became lovers but before they finally mated.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp7oSHLr3BY

Talin & Clay - Submarine Symphonika by The Submarines.

Judd & Brenna - Such Great Heights by The Postal Service.

Snippet of lyrics : I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay
True, it may seem like a stretch, but
Its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
Head when you're away when I am missing you to death

Riley & Mercy: Come On Closer by Jem

Snippet of Lyrics: Come on closer
I wanna show you
What I'd like to do
You sit back now
Just relax now
I'll take care of you

Hot temptations
Sweet sensations
Infiltrating through
Sweet sensations
Hot temptations
Coming over you

Gonna take it slow babe
Do it my way
Keep your eyes on me
Your reaction
To my action
Is what I want to see

I find Don't Let Go (Love) by En Vogue to be a song for Lucas and Sascha. When he tries to convince her they belong.

Snippet of Lyrics: I often tell myself
That we could be more than just friends
I know you think that if we move to soon
It would all end
I live in misery when you're not around
And I won't be satisfied 'till we're taking those vows
There'll be some lovemaking, heartbreaking, soul shaking
Oh, lovemaking, heartbreaking, soul shaking

It's not a special theme song, but 'Message in a Bottle' by The Police makes me always think about the Psy in Net and how lonely that must be, especially since we discovered that only a few Psy are truly and complete Silent. I think that was Nikita who thought that.

Here are snippes of the lyrics:

Just a castaway, an island lost at sea, oh
Another lonely day, with no one here but me, oh
More loneliness than any man could bear
Rescue me before I fall into despair, oh

I'll send an S.O.S. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle, yeah

A year has passed since I wrote my note
But I should have known this right from the start
Only hope can keep me together
Love can mend your life but
Love can break your heart

Walked out this morning, don't believe what I saw
Hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore
Seems I'm not alone in being alone
Hundred billion castaways, looking for a home

I think that really describes the life of most Psy, at least of the ones that aren't completely Silent and it shows the worst effect of Silence: you can't trust anybody, you are alone in the most cruel way.

Yeah, Siennas music taste IS the worst music taste ever. Terrible, but also funny since I really didn't expect her to listen to that kind of music.
