Kaleb: The STAR

I can't find it now but somewhere in one of the posts there was a question about the Silver Star that Kaleb was holding. I don't know if it's too obvious or if I'm way off base but what about NightSTAR? I wonder if it has something to do with that?

Which book is he holding a star in? So i can go back and read that part.

It is in Hostage to Pleasure. Chapter 42 on page 257.

o.0 I haven't read the book yet so I need alittle info before I can guess at it. Is it in the PsyNet? If not maybe it is a crystal like the one Father Perez gave to Judd that was from Ghost....and if that is it then that means...uh oh!

It's not a PsyNet event it's an actual physical item he's holding and it's silver. It's driving me crazy trying to figure out what it is and what it means.

Something tells me its original owner isn't Psy. Or, if they are Psy, they aren't in the PsyNet. Otherwise Krychek would have discovered the owner by now. Plus charms are pretty frivolous and almost non-functional. Which puts it close to the bottom of the list of things a Silent psy is likely to own.

It could be something that he is keeping from a relative who is a forgotten. I think all those who are in the rebellion also have a charm that they carry too don't they?

I don't know about that I do recall the comment about the Netmind not finding the owner for him. So maybe that means it belongs to a/someone who's not in the Psynet or b/someone the Netmind is protecting. ????

I was long thinking about the Silver Star and his owner. It could maybe one of the coins which we are told about in Hostage to pleasure. There should be about ten coins in the world if I remember right. And the reason why Kaleb can’t find the owner is, because he is dead, the only reason why the coin is free, when it is such charm of the rebellion. But after a while I come to the conclusion that it isn’t that important who its prior holder was. Much more important is the question why Kaleb is generally thinking about it. The Psy place no emotional importance on anything like that. So why is he “obsessed” that strong about it. Could he in the end have feelings?

I don't have my book with me right now but I think there was a slight description of the coin that was shown to Ashaya after her "death" wasn't there? For some reason it's sticking in my mind that it was a gold coin.

I'm thinking maybe there is some event or maybe the way Kaleb obtained the thing that is making him obsess over it? I mean if anyone would be susceptible to OCD it would be someone like him?

For that matter maybe I'm the one with OCD just obsessing over some small thing.

Nah, Ashaya was shown a coin, Kaleb's thingie is a charm...big difference.
