To answer the chest question...after looking at the past covers that this artist did, Yes they have. And yes she is pretty badass in this one, but I think she was pretty badass in the other covers too. Except for Angel's Blood, that one was done by another artist...and in my opinion was pretty lame!

Something tells me this will be the most epic GH yet. And finally we'll get a really dangerous fight where maybe a character or two close to us will not make it through the end! This part really got me..

Same! No waffling, just dives straight into it. Probably one of the ups of an ongoing series. You already have an established world (i.e. setting) and cast of characters, so no need for any introductory business.

Well I was thinking that three books of Raphael and Elena dealing with their problems ( the drip, drip, drip, / the body left broken on a field) was enough, really. Now it's time for the story to take center stage. I know these are romance novels at heart and in essence should focus on the main character/couple, but I felt that some of their story was bogged down by all that past trauma. Every time N.S. would inject some action it seemed too brief in my opinion. She's promised that major events which will change the Guild Hunter world will happen in this one and quite frankly I can't wait to read it all.Roxsan wrote:Same! - “Raphael.” The angel in front of them had slanted eyes of vivid green and wings of silken copper against hair of darkest scarlet, her nearly translucent skin showcasing her otherwise vivid coloring to dramatic effect. Reaching up as Raphael bent down, the act appearing familiar to them both, the stranger pressed her lips to Raphael’s cheek in a soft caress.
“And this,” she said, turning to Elena with a deep smile, “must be your Consort. I am honored to meet you.”
“Tasha is a friend from long ago,” Raphael explained, a warmth in him she hadn’t seen with any other female angel. “We played in Amanat as children.”
“Do you remember when we decided to raid every fig tree in the city?” Musical laughter, sparkling eyes. ”Your mother was so cross, she made us plant ten fig trees each. I can still see you with the shovel, your face streaked with dirt and leaves stick in your hair.”
The gorgeous image of Raphael as a mischievous boy made Elena smile, even as her instincts cautioned her to be wary. Unlike, Michaela, who made no effort to hide her desire for Raphael and contempt for Elena, Tasha was all warmth and laughter….while subtly reminding Raphael they had a history.
The depth of her sudden dislike made Elena pause, wonder if she was being fair….but then Tasha put her fingers on Raphael’s forearm as she brought up another shared memory. Elena didn’t play games like this, and in any other situation, she would’ve called the woman on it, but there were far more important things in play tonight. Still, she wasn’t sorry to see the back of Tasha when the other angel was called away by a friend.
Raphael’s head jerked up without warning a second later. “Lijuan is here.”

I am absolutely on pins and needles. My kindle is set to download the book tomorrow and I totally can't wait! Thanks for the spoiler mgiraldi, am assuming that scene took place at Caliane's ball. And anyone who's signed up to the newsletter should have been able to read Chapter 1 and 2, I'm going to read those again today so I can jump right into Chapter 3 tomorrow!
I can't wait to find out what Nassir really is. Although I'm assuming he's some sort of tiger hybrid like Venom is a snake hybrid. Well, guess we'll find out pretty soon!
