I think it´s Naasir because of the things he told Ash and his wild determination to get a mate.

Nassir seems like a strong possibility, but I think Aodhan might be possible too. I think it too soon for Illium, but who knows?

I think Illium will maybe be the last one.
His story is going to be a bang that alters the world.

And archangel needs to die.
A new one will awake.
But that´s just my opinion

Naasir, Naasir, Naasir! I'm absolutely terrified to even read the book, and I'll probably try to lower my expectations as much as possible. Everytime I was super excited about a release, I was disappointed, and everytime I was like, "Mhe," the release was mindblowing. So, I hope every one of you will "Mhe" with me, because if Naasir's book doesn't end up being at least a little mindblowing (mind-breezing?), I will cut somebody. ;P

Hey everybody, wow it's been a while since I last posted here. I saw the blurb for the new book too and I'm so excited.  I'm so confused though about who this enemy could be that could threaten the former archangel of Persia, which has to be Alexander btw.  It would have to be another archangel. Although with the Cascade in progress, normal angels are much stronger, but are they strong enough to kill an archangel?

Now this is officially the last book in the series and I'm not sure if we've heard anything about the contract being extended for more GH books.  I hate to say it, but I don't think Ilium is ready to settle down now.  Maybe if Elena was still available. But I see him finding his mate, perhaps in another 4 to 5 hundred years when he himself becomes an archangel.  And in that futuristic world, will it still really be "Guild Hunter?" What if the vampires evolve in a fashion that there is no need for the hunters guild anymore. Then the series transitions to something largely different.  N.S. was already going out on a limb writing stories about the Seven, especially the ones that didn't even have missions in New York or with Guild Hunters. Jason comes to mind and now Nassir as well.

If Ilium's book is written, it will probably be done as a spin off rather than being labeled a Guild Hunter novel.  People like Elena and I guess Honor are one in a billion, he's not going to find himself another Guild Hunter in this present time. Such a result would be way to contrived even for N.S. to try to make work.

Heyy!

I don't think this is the "official last book", because given the success, Nalini could be offered another contract and she has mentioned that the story isn't over yet. (That she'll come back to Raphael and Elena, too, I think) so I hope that there will be more. BUT I can absolutely see where you're coming from, though I feel like having it be more futuristic wouldn't necessarily mean it wasn't Guild Hunter anymore. IDK, I'm torn. :/

She originally had a contract for eight books - which is enormous in itself - but I'm pretty sure that has been expanded.
Nalini is churning out bestsellers like nobody's business and no publisher would be stupid enough to let that go ^^

At first when I saw the cover I wasn't that impressed, but it took me a minute that you can see Nassir's face through the tiger slash and he does look pretty hot. Next to Aodhan and possibly Venom, he's got the most striking look of the seven when you pair silver hair next to dark skin.

Guild Hunter 8 Empty Re: Guild Hunter 8

I know no one really posts here anymore but I had to put thoughts to paper as I just finished Archangel's Enigma this morning. Yes, this was a record read for me, I finished it in just over 24 hours. I simply couldn't put it down, went to bed at almost 3am last night as a result. Good thing I was off work today, lol.  Anyways, on to my review.

Warning, there are Spoilers!

To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure how I felt about Nassir's book. He was an interesting character, the vampire that wasn't really a vampire. And of course I wanted to know exactly what he was just as everyone else did. But like Jason, I kind of thought he wouldn't have that debonair swagger or seductive elegance like say Raphael and Dmitri.  And now that we know who Nassir is and he's a little bit childlike still, maybe it was hard for me to wrap my head around this feral teddy bear having adult relationships.  But no matter what I imagined, N.S. totally made it work.

I didn't know what to think of Andromeda at first.  I like that it was established early on that she wore another skin as well, out front you saw the scholar but under the surface was the trained warrior.  Now I know Andromeda is older than Mahiya, but in terms of the two main characters working together and fighting alongside each other, it worked much better for Nassir and Andromeda.

There were a few reveals in this book that let's face it, we'd been waiting a very long time for.  We finally learned the name of the angel that was on the cusp of becoming an archangel (mind you, he was first mentioned in book one.)  We even got the name of the mortal man Lijuan loved and was forced to kill.  I like that we're getting all this back story. Because any fanction writers out there like myself included would love to able to write short period pieces, maybe even about Lijuan before she became the monster she is today.

I was surprised that some scenes almost brought me to tears. When Lijuan killed Rohan (Alexander's son) in an effort to force the archangel to rise in a weakened state, I felt like I'd been gutted.  Because I couldn't help comparing the same situation to Raphael and Elena and Caliane's awakening. Remember that Caliane rose just in time to save Lijuan from killing Raphael, but unfortunately, Alexander couldn't rise fast enough to do so for his son.  The only saving grace was finding out that Rohan also had a son, Xander.

Alexander himself was pretty awesome. I had totally fallen for his character the first time I read about him in Galen's book.  And I know he was a very beloved character given his short screen time. And it's no wonder N.S. had to find a way to write him back into the current storyline, although having two ancients awake is unprecedented.  It was kind of hinted that the only woman who would be considered his equal and perhaps a future mate would be Caliane.  I actually wouldn't mind seeing him fall for either a human or a vampire to tell you the truth. The scene where Alexander and Raphael met for the first time was so tender. And you kind of figure they will never be BFF's but the respect is there now.

Oh, and hello to the epilogue of cataclysmic proportions.  Illium ascending, trying to become an archangel.  The way it ended after Raphael had to absorb the power himself in order to save Illium's life just makes you wonder what worse could be coming that would warrant him needing more power.  I kind of hope it's more than simply Lijuan coming back at them at full strength.

Because if you look at the breakdown, 11 archangels awake, 6 of them are pretty much allied with Raphael.  Elijah, Astaad, Titus, Caliane, Alexander and now Favashi.  All Lijuan has is Charisemnon because Neha and Michaela are pretty much wild cards.  Okay, I'm done putting thoughts to paper now, thanks for listening!
