A theory (or two) about Hawke

Post by Katherine on Thu Oct 15, 2009 3:56 pm

I think Hawke is one of the Forgotten. I think that's why he knew about Empaths even before meeting Sascha. It might even be how he knew about the PsyNet. I also think that the Psy must have hunted him and his family and possibly killed his (and Riley's) parents, and that's why he hates Psy with such a passion.

If that is true then, we now know that changeling DNA is the most dominant of the three races. We can also deduce that Sacha and Lucas will have a changeling baby.

I'd say that its definitely the most persistant, but lets give Psy powers their due: Thanks to his great grandmother, Lucas is 12.5% Psy. That's not a lot, but its enough for him to have some minor telepathy and also the power to know when Psy powers are being used around him. A nice little knack to have when you get right down to it.

I think there is evidence in the book to show that the Psy have dormant genes - Through Shine, we've seen that when the Forgotten bred with another race whether human or changeling, the resulting child was not always a full Psy. In most cases, though the gene was always present, the Psy gene resulted in the offspring having some percentage of Psy ability but not 100%. Maybe the Psy are also the most genetically weak of the three races?

I also think the theory about Hawke being a member of the web of the decendents of the Forgotton who hold on to the link is credible. It would explain so much if it were true. However, wouldn't he know Santos if that was the case? Wow, maybe this will be cleared in Santos' book. Can't wait!

Hawke's genetics

i forget who it was, possibly Dev who did say that when the forgotten dropped out those who were mated into Changeling packs were absorbed and their identities concealed. it's obvious that Hawke's grandmother (?) was one of those.

Hawke's genes

I think that Hawke being part of the forgotten may be true. but there is also to consider that when the forgotten were mentioned in mine o posses it was said that the changelings closed rank around their psy mates and children. so it can be said that Hawke can be a desendent of that.

But he would still be one of the "Forgotten".

I cannot wait for Kiss of Snow. Lets just skip Play of Passion and get to the good stuff!

Yep, I agree that Hawke's grandmother was one of those Psy mated to a wolf changeling when Silence was implemented. I think she was probably an E-Psy and that she is the person who painted the beautiful murals that decorate the wolf den, which is why they are so meaningful to Hawke.

I also think that Hawke is a descendant of the Forgotten. In Play of pasion you find a lot hints/references of the dark times of Snowdancer pack. I think in this time many member of Snowdancer have died because of the psy.

I do agree that there were members of the Forgotten in the Snow Dancer pack and this is why Riley's parents and others died 20 years ago. However I don't think Hawke is a decendant of the Forgotten. I think his mate who died was one of the Forgotten Psy.

I think that this also possible! Very Happy Killing his future mate (one of the forgotten) is a good reason for Hawkes hate against the psy race!

I think the future mate girl was a forgotten, thats why he knows so much about Psy, just remember in Lucas Story, they said to him (Hawke) Sascha is a Healer and he "An Emphat" how could he knew that, this ability doesnt "Exsist" on the paper for 100 years, so someone must have told him.

BUT why doesnt anybody else remember, Riley for example? He's almost at the same age like Hawke, and whats with this paintin at the walls of the den, maybe Hawke mother "Draw" them, or his sister or somone else he was relatet to.

But I dont think he's a psy or a forgotten, he seems really much changeling. And wouldn't they know it? Riley or Lara?
I have no idea, but maybe they had befor that "thing" when his futur mate was killed some psy in their den. And they were all killed by the coucil.

It would be possible, just like the shadownet. Nikita or so mentioned that they wanted them dead.
If the den hided them of course they wanted to kill all of them .. confuse I know

My theory re Hawke is that the girl who died wasn't his mate - he just thought she was. In one of the early books it stated that he'd been too young when she'd died for the mating bond to have shown up. So while she was his friend and maybe they would have mated if she'd lived I don't think she was his Mate. Nalini left herself a nice opening there - because every other Changeling mating we've seen has been with "The One" even though she's said before that some changelings take a partner if they don't find their Mate by a certain age.

What do you think?

Trayletha,
I think that is very possible. In my opinion, she would have been his "true mate" if she grew up, but since she died before the bond appeared, it kind of "canceled her out" & Sienna, who was born after his "would-be mate's death" took her spot, as Hawke never really had a mating bond.

Maybe it's her designation that makes it possible. Maybe she can change rules like that. Or he just shut down everything after his probably-mate died. He hurt so bad that he didn't get that this wasn't a mating-bond-to be but simply life. People die, you grief. But since he already tried to isolate himself from the others (or at least deep emotions and bonds, like the sentinel-thing), everything else.. like the Lauren and Starnet couldn't connect right. Ar, damnit, I'm not fluent in English, do you know what I mean? God, I wish I was born somewhere else xD.

But this theory is good.. I mean, that since there was nor REAL bond and .. hmm. Can't wait, can't wait. >___<
