What's the solition? Empty What's the solition?

The PsyNet is coming apart at the seams. In fact, it appears to be dieing and dieing fast. But most of its members don't appear aware of this and ALL of them need the PsyNet to survive?

What do you think is going to happen? How will the Psy survive? Or will they all die with the net?

You know, if I knew that, I would write the books myself...
I have absolutely no idea... and thats what I love about Nalinis books, she has all that brilliant ideas that I would have never ever thought about...

The questions that's bothering me the most at this moment is how Nalini will solve the biofeedback problem with Max's J-Psy...

I think the E-Psy are going to have something to do with it. Whether they find a way to re-integrate the Netmind or just deal with the fall out I don't know but I think they will have something to do with it.

How? Sascha is the only trained E-Psy on the planet.

Regarding Max and his J-Psy, that's a really, really good question. Maybe by the time she breaks Silence (which, from what we saw, shouldn't be too hard) things in the PsyNet will be chaotic enough for her to be able to stay in the Net and hide from those who would kill her.

Another thought: In Visions of Heat, Faith said that the NetMind showed her dozens of small, independent neuro-nets. Maybe one of those is located in New York and she her mind will be able to find her way to it after it breaks from the PsyNet.

Or (and this is just my mind working with it's sci-fi lobe) what if the Psy net itself is just a bunch of little networks patched together like a quilt, that when it breaks apart will be a bunch of independant networks...it boggles the mind what we see as possibilities and what will be the truth of Nalini's world.

I remember it being said that the Net Mind was hiding the E-psy within itself, in essence hiding them as a shield. Once the Net falls that shield will also fall, giving those E-psy the freedom to now act as the weapon to keep the psy from total collapse. Will it be a pretty sight, no. It will be bloody, and chaotic for a time, but will it be as bloody as they foresee it? I don't think so. In a way of describing how I forsee this all playing out...think of the downfall of the net as a cut to your skin...there is blood flow, but eventually the blood clots and stops all together creating a scab that acts as a protection for healing. That is how I see the E-psy...they are the scab that will protect and heal the others...If there is one thing that boggles me is my imagination, and the images that come to my brain!! But most, maybe all, of the E-Psy in the Net don't know they have E-Psy powers at all. Not even Sascha knew, and she's a Cardinal.

I almost forgot that it is true,Katherine!I'm just curious how long is the PsyNet going to exist at this condition.Just how it was said.. when the Ghost will collapse, then the PsyNet will collapse too. Just I don't know neither when will this happen, nor who is the Ghost. Pity Smile and I do believe Psy are NOT going to die.I wish they wouldn't,I think perhaps rebels are preparing to be ready for this.. and perhaps those who now are abandoned will help the silenced ones.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything. Just poking and prodding at your idea.

Actually, I think you might be right. You see, Sascha didn't know she was a Cardinal E-Psy but that didn't stop her from using her powers on Dorian. She didn't know that was what she was doing, but she did it anyway. Did it well, in fact.

It just about killed her though. That doesn't bode well for the other E-Psy who find themselves using their powers on instinct.

Hey, I did say it would be bloody...I never said how it was going to be bloody...But I think the E-psy will go the way of Sascha and explore their abilities over time, providing the anchors needed for the others to stay in control.

I wonder if things will fully come apart in book nine or book ten?

If my suspicions are correct, then the fall of the Psy will set the stage for story arc 2.
