Amara
I was wondering if anyone thought that there really could be a good side to Amara and she could possible be Dev's Mate.

Re: Amara
I don't think so. She's natural born sociopath. She has no morals, no scruples. I really wouldn't go so far as to call her 'evil' but she's definitely not 'good'.
Amara
I definitely agree that she can't be Dev's mate. I don't see her mating at all in the series, though I do think she will be important.

Re: Amara
I think Amara is one of the most interesting characters in the Psy/changeling world right now. Even though she's far away from the changelings, I am very interested in the changes she can cause on the Web of Stars. However, I don't think she's capable of mating or finding a significant other. Her whole world revolves around her sister and she doesn't desire anything else. I think she's going to be used mostly to show the evolution of Sascha's powers since they are opposites.

Re: Amara
I think she is one seriously disturbed person. I think she will be a disruptive force for a while. Hopefully she will not kill anyone while she settles into her new life. I don't think she is happy now at all. She is probably plotting something horrible. Should be fun to read and anticipate.

I agree with both points. She's like a parasite twin.
Re: Amara
Im clueless but possible. We know her but not really... And we dont really know what is running inside her mind everytime. But she's Ashaya's twin and had shown her sister the importance of her existence. Therefore, there's something good in her just that maybe she need new environment (and love) to overcome the coldness.

Didn't Nalini say that Dev's mate would be someone we knew, but didn't know very well?

Re: Amara
Katherine, I think Nalini said that it was someone who was mentioned or that we "knew" but that hasn't physically appeared. Also, I remember reading in an interview a while back that Nalini said that at this point she didn't believe that Amara was going to have a romantic story. I don't think Amara is supposed to become "good," just passive or neutralized. I believe Amara is meant to represent the DarkMind in the Web.

Hi. Well if Nalini meant that she is someone who hasn't "physically appeared', definitely its not Amara. Yes, we have seen her, but I cannot say that I really know her.

Re: Amara
Nalini herself told us in the Q&A : "while I think Amara has a definite part to play in the world, I'm not
sure she'll ever heal enough to be the heroine of her own story.
However, I can see her developing and changing through the books - and
who knows, she might surprise us all. She certainly has before."

Back on Amara
Okay, fellow fan club'ees, don't beat me up to bad. I re-read HTP and I still wonder what is in store for us concerning what to do with Amara. Not that she is what she is, maybe Nalini is planning a capitvating story that involves Amara. I don't believe she will be romatically link to Dev. But, she may be reintroduced in Dev. Imagine... the huiman alliance reforms and tries to get to Dorian's mate through their little boy -- that may stir the "auntie/momma's baby" genes in Amara. Maybe never really good, but there is some hope.
Anyway, I am counting down the days to July so I can read BBF. Loved the little thing about Tejian and Zane. Nalini really does take care of her readers. Love her! Holla back!.

Re: Amara
I wouldn't dismiss Amara so easily.I do find her interesting.. her emptiness inside her, even that sociopatich character(of course not all!! just a tendency towards it) does not mean that she is not worth a story. She's complicated, but for me - intriguing. And I always remember that scene with her and Mercy. She was.. well, I liked it a lot.
