Neha's consort Eris had an affair with her sister (who died the day their love child was born). This book is going to be explosive!!! The first chapter blew me way!!!!

Yes, that really blew me away when I read it. It was one scenario I hadn't expected. So now Eris is dead . . . and you've got to wonder how Neha really feels about Mahiya.

When I read it I was so speechless.. I'm not sure what I said in the comments, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was in German. XD

I had posted my suspicions in the Archangel's Storm thread that Mahiya was the daughter of someone related to Neha; sibling, cousin or uncle. So now we learn that she had a sister who died shortly after Mahiya was born? Am guessing the relationship between them was not stellar after Neha learned of the affair she'd had with Eris. Which begs the question, was Neha upset enough to end her own sisters life? And of course we know she would not touch Mahiya because angel children are beyond precious. What do you guys think?

Speculation like this is just fantastic to engage in. Then we get to find out in September what's the real deal!

I'm going to guess that Neha was beyond angry at her sister and Eris and could very well have had something to do with her sister's death but . . . could it be that her sister and Eris had always been in love but Neha wanted him and forced him to become her consort?

That's a good concept. I wonder who would have been older, Anoushka or Mahiya? We know something was up with Eris because Neha kept him like a caged doll. But one things for certain, he sure had some fertile you know what. Let's just say he wasn't shooting blanks to have impregnated both sisters.

LOL! Anybody have Archangel's Kiss handy? I think Anoushka is way older than Mahiya and her 300 years but I can't look it up as I don't have my copy easily accessible.

If Anoushka is older that messes with my theory a bit. Neha could still have forced Eris to be her consort thousands of years ago, forced him away from her sister, and he could have still loved her sister and carried on a secret affair with her over time.

So we already know that Jason is going to fall for Neha's niece,but what if Neha doesn't want to give her up? We know the loyalty shared between Raphael & Jason would probably end up with Raphael helping Jason out if Neha is going to be disagreeable.

Do you guys think we could be getting ready for an archangel war with this book??

We need to know whether Neha really loves Mahiya and did adopt her as a daughter more than in name, or if she tormented her and kept her close just to torture Eris. We don't yet know if Neha had her sister killed after Mahiya was born or if she died of natural causes in childbirth. We don't yet know who killed Eris and why. Neha could also be emotionally crippled by the death of Eris and not capable of waging war for a long, long time.

Neha might let Mahiya go with Jason even if she hated her but realized she'd risk war with Raphael otherwise, or she might let go because she loves her and wants her to be happy. I'd kind of guess the former though. All the archangels with the exception of Raphael and the other one (Elijah? mated to Hannah?) seem a tad, uh, unstable lol.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that would probably be highly unlikely. Angels are not so weak to die from something as simple as child birth. If they can die of natural causes at all, then it would be something that is natural to angels, but not humans. Therefore a completely different concept.

The excerpt didn't make it sound like an accident or natural cause, either. Except if you call an Archangel a natural cause, which.. considering their power, you probably could do.

Ah, that was my mistake, when I read the excerpt and it said that Neha's sister had been "dead as long as her child had been alive", I thought that meant she might have died in childbirth. But you are likely correct that something as relatively simple as childbirth isn't likely to kill an angel.

I'm thinking that Eris's affair with Neha's sister is the escape that she forgave him for, which is what resulted in her imprisoning him. Mahiya is also her second because she is Eris's, and what is that old saying "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer"...

The tone of the excerpt screamed that her sister was killed by no accident the moment she gave birth! Neha probbly ripped Mahiya from her arms and then had her slain. And the back cover summary makes it seem like Neha is in an effing rage and she already has hard feelings so if there is even a inkling that it was one of Raphael's people she is prime for war!

Yeah, you're right they aren't really stable.

Are there any guesses to why Eris was killed...I really wanna know what you guys think,your opinions are always so amazing

I'm thinking it's a revenge plot...how many people in the past have grudges or slights or whatever you want to call them against the Rapheal camp (yes I said camp...him, his seven, his consort...shall I go on?) who are connected to Neha's territory or staff...or barring that it's a frame job for yet another attempt by Liuan to get Rapheal's attention.

I am looking forward to maybe some tender moments where Raphael describes how he would feel if someone murdered his consort....I LOVE how he gets fiercely protective of Elena! A nice scene where he holds her and goes all Archangel scary and still and she comforts him....::sigh::
