Slave to Sensation: 97 or 79 cuts ?

Hi,
I have a question.

English is not my mothertongue and have been reading the books in my own language, german.
But I think they made a mistake as they mediated it. First they say, Enrique used to do 79 cuts, as Silentium was finally settled in 1979. Later they say it were 97, and the year was 1997.

I think the first one is true, but may anyone tell me which one is correct ?

ok, found it, in the German version on page 353, line 4 he says... 1997, the year, I´m, celebrating the moment our race was born...
something like that...
but sometime later somebody says he was wrong, don´t know where to find it...but they say he was wrong because it was earlier or later, can´t remember properly...

The German translation not only sucks, it got errors

höh, really? I thought somebody said he was wrong...I thought I read it somewhere....in 2nd or 3rd book, you sure the translation was wrong?

He was wrong with the 79 cuts.

He does it to honor the implementation of silence, but someone says, that Silence has been imvented before or something

yeaah, ah, never mind, German Translation sucks, a fact we all know

Now I am confused.

Silentium started in 1969, so Psy would not have any negative feelings, and it was "improved" in 1979, so that Psy should not have feelings at all.
So 79 would be rather logical.

I don´t know what´s the right number...I only read the German version, so you´ll have to trust the ones who read in english...
maybe some time in future I´ll get the english versions too, if I have too mcuh money or won in the lottery

The Silence protocol was instituted in 1979, which is when the Forgotten was established as well...they broke away from the Net before undergoing Silence conditioning.

The cuts made on the victims was Enrique's version of celebrating the birth of his Sociopathy...or in his mind his greatest strength...and that was 79 cuts per victim.
