Nalini said that she originally had Mercy paired up with someone other than Riley. She won't say who, but it still makes an interesting question to ponder.

Who do you think Nalini originally had Mercy paired with?

I think it was Dorian originally, but then found out that they worked better as friends instead of lovers.

I sorta thought Bowen might have been The One. He's very charming and dominant in the extreme and by matching her with him, DR would have gained an alliance with (a newly reorganized) HA.

I see Bowen as being The One for Rina, Mercy would have eaten him alive.

Ummm....maybe. On the other hand, maybe not. He sure did a good job of standing up to Lucas and Hawke.

I also think it was Dorian, but she realized she had confused The One with Mercy's platonic soulmate.

I thought it might have been Clay. Now that you guys mentioned Dorian, could be him too.

Bowen was the head of the Human Alliance team that came in and abducted a young man under DR's protection. He then sought the protection of DR (yeah, they thought that was pretty funny too) for himself and his team and actually received it for a time.

When I read the end of Dorians book I feard that it'd be Hawke. I have no idea why but I got the Hawke-feeling.
