THEORY ABOUT KALEB

Maybe I just "over"read it, but has anyone a idea what Kaleb looks like? Couldn't find it.

I found something in BOJ: page 66 yes, aestheticaly speaking, he was the epitome of acold male beauty
page 120 his profile all clean lines, his skin that strokable dark honey, bone struchture flawless.. Objectively speaking Councilor Kaleb Krychek was one of the most devastatingly attractive men on the planet

There is a scene in BOJ that, to me, points the finger more directly at Kaleb possibly being the Ghost.
Kaleb has been described as being so cold, he makes even some of the Psy uncomfortable...but we have seen that some psy can put up extremely cold fronts when they need to, especially if they have feelings-no matter how minimal-to hide.
After Kaleb makes a killing, I feel there is a definite feeling behind it. And then he looks at a star and says "for you."
I think that even though Kaleb shadowed Santano Enrique, it doesn't mean he is like him. He may have even been forced to be an audience to Santano's tortures and murder. When he says "for you" I think he is talking to one of the girls Santano killed and I think it may have been someone who was meant to be his mate-possibly Dorian's sister. He was probably too young at the time and/or did not have the power to overcome Santano's powers and as a result, now wants to save his race from being controlled by those like Santano. He has some kind of bond with the Net Mind and perhaps him wanting to take over the Net is not necessarily for bad purposes.

I think the star represents Sahara (sp?) Nightstar; however, it could also be that Swan changeling who disappeared at the same time as Kaleb (or some other changeling). This of course is assuming he's looking for "his mate," as he could be looking for someone else. Or like you said, the star represents someone who died while he was training with Enrique.

Tracy, I wanted to write exactly what you wrote!

So many possibilities! After I get my "Hawke fix," I think Kaleb's going to be my "new Hawke." ;-)

I'm also with the tall, Silent and secretive guys! I want to read more about Kaleb too, but my favourite is Vasic. Since the scene where he's cleaning the murder site in HtP. The next book needs definitely some more Vasic and Kaleb.

I've always thought Kaleb was the Ghost so much about them is the same. I think the star represents Sahara as the dates tie in although I hope it's someone else as Sahara or a lost changeling mate would be too predictable.
I'm hoping the next story will be the Ghosts/Kalebs story.
If not it has to be Vasic and Adens
I would love his story - he's so complex but I get the feeling he's very broken too.

Ok, I've been pondering about this for a while; no way in any alternate universe can Kaleb be the Ghost in my mind. There is a simple reason for this. It's well-know by now that Kaleb was Enrique Santanos protégé, right? Kaleb was not only under the supervision of a psychotic murderer, but also participated in these devious acts. And so, those of you who have read Caressed by Ice; do you reeeeeally think Judd would cooperate with a man who had a part in his mates torture och suffering? You all know as well as I that Judd wanted to bathe in Councilor Santanos blood, and that he would go for second best, Kaleb, if he could. What he would not do is sneak of to secret rendevouz with him. Just my opinion. Anyone else agree?

I don't think Judd'd be like that. After all he knows what he was forced to do, too. I don#t say Kaleb's the Ghost, but first of all, we don't know for sure if he really tortured those people or if he just had to watch the whole show.

Judd's rational enough, I think. He'd see that even if he wanted (and we don't know yet if he did or didn't want) to escape Enrique (btw, anyone else always seeing Enrique Iglesias? Don't mean to be rude, but boy, this guy is torturing people, too. "I COULD BE YOUR HEROOO, BABY!") or to say "Nah, oh you, much stronger, older and colder guy, I won't do what you say. And yes, I know that you'd kill me, but hey, my life isn't as important as the one of this girl I don't even know."

On the other handsight.. Why would Enrique take him as a protege? He must have had some weird charactertrades from the beginning on. Except if he e.g. was just -there- and Enrique saw that as a opportunity. Or that Kaleb needed Enrique bc of the person he's looking for. Or.. well, there are many reasons.

But HE wasn't the one who tortured Brenna and even if it's horrible that he might have tortured others, I don't think Judd'd go after him. He isn't as strong as Kaleb, right? But then, even if he wouldn't try to kill him, he'd also not coorporate.. Although, maybe he would to protect/help his race..

So I think the fact that Kaleb was Enrique's protege means nothing (with regard to whether he could be the Ghost). Also, in KoS there was a reference to the Ghost looking for someone. That seemed to be a clue that he is Kaleb since we've heard about Kaleb looking for someone over several books now.

Have not read KoS yet, so I can't discuss it, but Nikita has also stated that, while all the cuncilors are killers in one way or the other, Kaleb indulges in the type of killing Enrique displayed, as opposed to Nikita, who might kill if it favors her business. Can't remember from which book, though.

Oops, sorry about the spoiler re KoS! I'll go back and hide it for those who have not yet read the book.

I think I recall the scene you described re Nikita, and off the top of my head I thought she was guessing re what Kaleb may or may not have done.

Actually this section "his profile all clean lines, his skin that strokable dark honey, bone struchture flawless" is about Max, THEN she compares him to Kaleb, this is more noticeable if you read the full scene.

I havent been able to find ANY physical descriptors for kaleb regarding skin colour or hair colour, we only know he is amazingly attractive, has cardinal eyes, has a mark branded into forearm... lol, does this help? maybe we should email nalini, but maybe even she hasnt decided yet! XD

I know Nalini probably would, if she could read what I would write but I don't know, I'm shy (not at all. ^^ Just with amazing people I look up to. I think I would just die in front of Judd and Hawke).

I've eliminated Aden as being the ghost, since he was surprised to see Judd alive....So now the questions is: Vasic, Kaleb, or someone completely off my radar? (Heck, the Ghost might be a character that hasn't even been mentioned or only named briefly.)

And Bella, what do you want to ask Nalini?
