Re: Just got my ARC
Aaaah. I'm in a dilemma. I'm in the United Arab Emirates (Google if you don't know where that is :p) and books usually come out in the bookstores three weeks after they're released in the United States.
The ebook is not available for this region on amazon so I'm going to make my sister buy it for me in Canada.
Or I guess I could call up bookstores here and ask them if they're willing to order it for me... *sigh*

BlueQueen, I don't have a Kindle, but I think if one of the ladies here has and is able to lend it to you, it might work, too until you got your own copy! =)
And omg, I think everyone here knows where the United Arab Emirates are. Although I have to admit that I didn't know the English term. Whatever.
Good luck!
Oh, um, is it just me or are there like.. 40 pages of comments missing? Is it just me or..? Where did they go?

Sienna & Hawke...at last!
Customer Rating
Posted May 23, 2011, 5:04 PM EST: For those who didn't want to pay for a hardback, the NOOK price means readers don't have to wait for this much anticipated 10th book in the Nalini Singh Psy-Changeling series. And that's a good thing, because we've waited long enough! Hawke has stayed away from Sienna because of her youth; the fact that his wolf's mate died as a child has also meant that he'd always be alone. But in viewing Sienna as an inexperienced child, Hawke has made a serious miscalculation. One of the rarest talents in the Psy world, the mysterious and lethally dangerous X-Psy were once studied by a young thesis student named Alice Etheridge whose knowledge may be the only thing to save Sienna from certain death. One problem; Etheridge and her work have not been seen since before Silence was imposed on the Psy race. Sienna's talent is so lethal that the longest any X has survived is until their 25th year...and that was caged in the complete control of Silence. The defection of the Lauren family from the Psy Net meant that they escaped rehabilitation and could carve out whole new lives as a family and freed both Judd and Sienna from being used as weapons by the Council. But it also meant that both Judd and Sienna had to learn new ways to control their powers as one loss of control could mean the deaths of everyone they've come to love. In Kiss of Snow, Hawke allows himself to get closer to Sienna and finally learns that she was never the youngster he thought her. Raised under the martial tutelage of Ming LeBon, she never had a childhood and was being trained as a weapon from the age of 5. Only the Lauren's defection as a family from the Psy Net when Sienna was a teen saved her from becoming an assassin for her race. Slowly Hawke comes to see her as the perfect mate for an Alpha as she possesses both the strategic knowledge and the physical training of a soldier, cool Psy intellect, and such loyalty to the Pack that accepted her family that she is willing to die to save it from the Psy...and from herself. Readers of Singh have come to expect her perfect characterization (we get to see lots of characters from the old books), complex world-building (she's done it twice now with the multi-layered Psy-Changeling world and her equally splendid Guild Hunters books), and explosive sensuality, and she doesn't disappoint us with Hawke and Sienna's story. We get both a beautifully tender and sensual love story and the increasingly dangerous escalation of the war between the Psy and anyone who would challenge their complete domination. This is a paranormal series that should be read in order : Bk. 1 Slave to Sensation; bk. 2 Visions of Heat; bk.3 Caressed by Ice; bk. 4 Mine to Possess; bk. 5 Hostage to Pleasure; bk. 6 Branded by Fire; bk. 7 Blaze of Memory; bk. 8 Bonds of Justice; bk. 9 Play of Passion.

I live in Melbourne, I'm so happy I live in Melbourne, cos my copy of KOS came in today! Wheeeeeee, it's the weekend, cold, wet, raining. I don't care, my spot on the couch is picked out and I've got my book. Did think at one stage of getting on a plane and flying to New Zealand and camping on Nalini's doorstep till she gave me a copy. It's only a 3 hour flight. For those of you who live in Melbourne, contact Rendevous Romance in Lonsdale St. She's got a boxload in early. Yay!

Kiss of Snow Countdown Quote #11
- Spoiler:
- Eight hours later, with the mountains kissed white-gold by the morning sun, Hawke stood staring at the door that had just been slammed in his face. "Sienna," he growled.

I'm going to try and get my Sister in Canada to buy it for me on Amazon and transfer it to my kindle (Which I don't technically have but I downloaded the free version for PC just to read the book ) If not, let's see. But the wait is horrible.
I tried some of the bookshops here (We have Magrudys, Kinokinoya & Borders) Borders would get it for me in 15 days and Kinokinoya in two months. So I'd rather get an ebook.
Hehe, About UAE I was just making sure. :p

Re: Just got my ARC
Ok that was the fastest 2 hour drive ever. Dragged hubby along to drive so that I could read, under the passing streetlights, at the traffic lights, even roadworks lights weren't bad, 'cept for the constant flashing. Tried the interior car light on and off thing but that was a deal braker, then we got stuck in the tunnel with peak hour traffic. Yay it's lit up like a christmas tree, happy to sit there forever! Anyway since it seems like I've been on this forum forever waiting for this damn book to come out, and as soon as I figure out how to hide the spoilers I'll put them up.......

bluetooth, the code for spoilers: [ spoiler ] text to hide here [/ spoiler ]. Please remove the spaces within the brackets when you use this.
And you have a patient hubby!
By the way, should the quotes/spoilers continue here or should a new thread for those with the book itself be made?

Hi everyone. All you "lucky people" who will finally get your hands on the KOS on Tuesday or even earlier, please remember all of those who live in europe. We want spoilers/quotes etc. Our suffering still continues. It will be at least another two weeks before THE BOOK arrived via international post, if you dont have kindle etc. NS has me spoilt with the daily treats which will end on 31 May.

- Spoiler:
- As everyone dispersed, splitting themselves between Elias's truck and the one Tai was going to be driving, Hawke realised he was about to spend over an hour alone in a confined space with a female he'd made every effort to avoid ever since she hit eighteen. A female who was almost spilling out of her shirt, allowing him glimpses of red satin against creamy gold skin. Great, just fuckng great.

Ok that so made my weekend! I absolutely love that spoiler One question though out of curiosity - where are they going that they are only taking two trucks AND Sienna is "spilling out of her shirt"?

Thanks so much for that spoiler! I am so jealous of those of you who live near a store that has stocked KOS early. I dragged the family to my local Borders tonight and was very disappointed!

I'm going particularly crazy on this one...
I really wish someone would post the whole dance scene. Sigh. Or is that too much to ask for? *puppyeyes*

“You want to dance? Then dance with me.”

or three."
Hi Lisa, Hawke had gone to the club thinking he was going to break up a fight and found Sienna dancing on the bar. When he carried her out of the club he told the other wolves to leave too. They did but when they divided into the cars, he was left on his own with Sienna. It's a funny moment. That man is toast.
Most of the review boards have covered the main events of the story, but I particularly loved the subtle moments Nalini put in there, the events that made up the day to day lives of the changeling packs.
So for those who still have to wait 2 weeks (really?) and who have been haunting the forums since December like me and wished every day someone would please, please, please put up one more spoiler...yep this is for you.

- Spoiler:
- "Sienna's going to be spoiling for a fight when her punishment is done."
Hawke dumped his gear in the truck with more force than necessary. "No more long leash for her Riley. She steps out of line, slap her back into it."
"Wow that's a big pot Sienna."
Deep warmth spread through her veins. For Toby she'd do anything. He made her want to be good too-even though she knew that to be an impossible goal.
A hand on her forearm. "Sienna."
Dropping the pot, she bent to wrap her soapy arms around that gangly preteen body that was no longer that of the child she'd tickled into bed last year. "How do you always know?" she whispered into his hair."
Luc to Hawke: "I hear your boy's been out to the Canyon."
"Falcons love Drew - I think he even had an indecent proposal or three."
Lucas's head turned toward the cabin. "Indigo know?"
"I didn't want bloodshed."
Sascha rubbed the hard mound of her pregnant belly and stared at the jar of Moreno cherry jam. "No. Absolutely not," she said to the child
in her womb. The baby wiggled, its emotions sparking of hunger. Groaning she picked up the jar, unscrewed it, and spooned up the jam.
Hawke crouched in a sun drenched corner of a small clearing ringed by ancient sequoias with roots the thickness of a grown man's body and dotted with a myriad wild blooms adapted to the cold mountain climate.
"Hey Risssa."
The only reply was silence.
"Hello Sascha darling" he murmured dropping his voice into bedroom territory. "Miss me?"
"Sinna!" Ben skidded to a halt at her feet not far into the white zone. "Hi!" He threw his arms wide.
Going down on her haunches she cuddled him tight whispering "Do you want me to do up your shoelace?" in his ear.
A furtive nod.
"Seen that leopard cub lately?"
"If you're talking about Kit, yes I had lunch with him today."
He felt claws pricking at the insides of his skin as they came to a halt on top of another rise that allowed them to look out over the territory.
"Lunch."
"Why Sienna Lauren as I live and breathe." A smile that held more than an edge of flirtation. "Aren't you looking pretty these days?"
Sienna to her credit, retained her cool. "I saw you doing the chicken dance once Tomas. It wasn't sexy."
"Shh," she said. "He didn't mean it. You knew he didn't." More sniffles. She stroked her fingers through the pup's soft brownish fur. "Do you want to stay with me?" A decisive nod. Smiling Sienna bent to kiss the top of that furred head. "Well you can but you know I can't hide as good as your friends. I can't howl either." Her head lifted. "Look who's come to ask you to play."
Judd: "Hello Aden."
Aden looked out at the kitchen garden behind the church. "I did not expect to find you so near a place of worship."
"Have you come to kill me?"
"Those are my orders."
"Since I can teleport that means Vasic is nearby."
"Holy fuck," Zane muttered from where he was holding contact with the wolves. "It kind of freaks me out that this guy's been in the region the whole time without us knowing."
Teijan had met Judd Lauren earlier that day, had to agree with Zane. "At least he's on our side."
Walker: "Why are we watching a movie Lara?
"I - it's what people do on a date?"
"Do you want to do that?"
"We're alone. We can do whatever we want."
"In that case, I'd like to kiss you."
And finally Nikita:
A push along the telepathic pathway and she realized Sascha was trying to send her something bigger than a driect thought. Aware her daughter's Tp was weak, she reached out with her own, "caught" the sending in a psychic grasp...and saw an image of an infant.
Sacha's child. Nikita's grandchild.

Elaine, if Sienna and Hawke weren't such strong personalities in their own right, Judd would've walked in and taken this book over. He's Sienna's uncle, Hawke's lieutenant, Marlee & Toby's uncle, Walker's younger brother, Brenna's mate, Riley, Mercy, Drew & Indigo's bro-in-law....get what I mean. He's that good.
