Angels' Blood: Who's next?
So after reading Angels' Blood, who's story are you interested in hearing next? We already know that the short novella coming out later this year is on Sara and Deacon, so we can all look forward to reading their story. And the next major story picks up where this one left off with Elena and Raphael. Hopefully this can become a series similar to Psy/Changeling where we get to see the stories of all, or most of the characters. I'm really interested in Venom and I hope we can learn about his past in more detail in the future. So who would be your pick?

Jason or Illium, I do like Blue Bell. I think we'll hear more about Ashwini and her cajun vampire that kind of just reminds me of Rogue and Gambit from X-men but I haven't had a chance to read Angel's Pawn yet. *sigh*

Speaking of Illium...is it me or is he on his way to ascending to Archangel status?

Re: Angels' Blood: Who's next?
I like Illium and Dmitri the most, but I prefer to read more about Elena and Raphael. Their story isn't finished, despite the fact that they're together now.
Elena still has to learn how to be an angel slash guild hunter. She still has unresolved issues with her father. She still has to build a home with Raphael, and I'm sure Nalini Singh has lots more in store for them.
There are only 8 Cadre now. That could pose more problems for Raphael. Michaela has something of Uram still left in her, and she's had it for Elena from the very beginning. Raphael's Seven, excluding perhaps Illium, are still weary of Elena's effect on their sire.
Etcetera, etcetera...
I like series where we get to see stories of most/all of the
characters, but I've read a lot of that and I'm quite ready to go back
to seeing just one central couple this time. There aren't a lot of series interesting enough once the couple gets together, but Nalini Singh has kept Elena and Raphael exciting and sooooooooooo much more worthy to follow ever since they 'got together'. I don't want to let go of it yet.

Re: Angels' Blood: Who's next?
I'm with you Kotodama, I don't think they are done and I think the series will be best served if they remain the primary focus of the books, with the rest of the tapestry of characters flowing and growing around them.
I see this series like I see the "In Death" series of JD Robb, the primary focus is one couple, but all the supporting character's lives still grow and effect the maturing relationship of the primary couple as they build their life together and interact with those supporting characters.
The beauty of this world is that there is more at stake with the angels and the powerplays that will ensue, as well as the political ramifications of the guild and how it will survive having an angel in it's ranks.

Re: Angels' Blood: Who's next?
Word, Rageane.
In this series, Nalini Singh has established a lot of really great relationships already, with Elena and Raphael's as the most intriguing and unique.
As much as I would love to read Illium's story, I can't help but feel a little sorry for, IF, he ever gets his own. I'm confident in Singh's talents, but all the other leading ladies pale in comparison to Elena. And Illium's infatuation seems to be just in the beginning stages anyway. It needs time to develop and get more complicated. I admit I'm looking forward to seeing more of Illium's one-sided feelings. XD His power is still developing, too. He might be on his way to archangelhood with his discovery of anshara, but unless it could come like Elena's wings did, I doubt he could have it in the space of one or two books (unless there's a big big time skip involved). I think Aodhan and Galen are leaps and bounds ahead of him, too.
Oh, I also forgot to include Neha. She's sure to be still gunning for Michaela and Raphael, for delivering Anoushka's killing blows.
And at some point, I expect Caliane to resurface. Probably not for a long time, but she's like a bigger threat than Lijuan, possibly.
See, that's the thing that I LOVE about Guild Hunter; Nalini Singh has all these unexplored possibilities opened to Elena and Raphael, and it's not just the normal clichéd love triangle/does he love me-love me not/get together-break up scenario. They're already together, and there's a whole world of ridiculously good plot to explore.

Re: Angels' Blood: Who's next?
Elena and Raphael are the heart of the Guild Hunter storyline. Dmitri, Illium, Jason and the other angels and vampires are the blood vessels that feed the heart. However they have their own flow and power and I'm sure that their own stories will be developing as the series progresses. I'd love to see Dmitri meet a woman whose not obsessed with his scent and lethal looks. Illium is a charmer and reminds of the school friend you always laughed with becasue their so likeable and wouldn't think a bad thing about them, However in a tight spot they'd be the first one in line at your back. Jason is silent and dark. Who will be his light? Aodhan is going to be interesting to watch out for in the upcoming books. He's just stepped in. But honestly, Elena and Raphael are always going to be involved if not the primary characters of the books.
And remember, a majority of people think she's dead or a vampire. No one knows she's been Made an angel except other angels and Sara. So what will New York think about that, hmmm............

Re: Angels' Blood: Who's next?
I'm so exited about this series and all the plot-possibilities. It's like we know what could happen but not when or how those points are going to resurface.
I'm new to Nalini Singh, so now you guys have me both worried and excited that the next book or the one after that one will be a Raphael/Elena book or some other angel/guild character *chewing my nails* I would really love for all of them (even Michaela) to get their own books, or team up for it =p
Despite how bitchy Michaela is, I have falling for her, no matter how many times Raphael keeps warning us not to do that. =s I hope this time around we would be able to save her from the bloodlust growing in her -- killing her would be just a repeat of Uram's death, so... yeah, find a cure ^_^
grrr, is anyone out there? I really want to gush about this book ...

Hey Lani! I decided to follow you here from the cemetary and no I don't consider it stalking! I just wanted to be able to reply back after you gushed about the books!
Nalini's next GH book is entitled Archangels' Consort and will be about Elena and Raphael after they return to Manhattan. It is coming out early 2011 (I think it be out around the time of TSOTG). I don't know if Nalini has a contract to write about the 7 but we will be seeing and learning more about a couple of them in AC.

Oh hey CMP! Glad for the company!
Maybe we should ask Tee if we could open a thread about this series, many of us have read it, so *ponders*
Yeah, it's coming out on February 2011 as well, my birthday month! ^_^ that's two releases I'm so looking forward too.

Why limit ourselves to just this series? Why not the author herself? Someone opened one for JD Robb (I don't read her so I always pass it by ).

That's a great idea. It wont take away from Elena/Raphael and still give us more about the others. I really want to have more on Dimitri who i think Holly Chang may have something to do with and Illium.

Re: Angels' Blood: Who's next?
YEs! Ever since Raphael said Dmitri had a weakness for victims caught in fire (or something like that) I was like Ajah! And then in AK when he reports on her Please please, let it be her.
Also, I want my Bluebell to find love, specially since he loves humans ^_^ (Pick me, pick me!)
I like Jason, but Aodhan needs an HEA ASAP! Galen and Jessamy are so adorable together (LOL) I bet Galen turns to a softy around her Venom could stay a player for eternity, and I just want to know if Naasir can shift into a tiger or not!

I was thinking about Dmitri and Holly Chang might be a couple eventually and also maybe Noel and Jason.

Re: Angels' Blood: Who's next?
who's Noel? Isn't that a guy? the one who got beaten to a pulp at the beginning of AK?
I think Jason could be paired up with the female angel who does intel for him. Can't remember her name, but he sent her in his stead, after being wounded by the walking-dead.

It was strongly hinted at by Raphael wasn't it... I hope so.
