Sunday, 7th of August

Dear Diary,
Today was a pretty day. I finally found my long lost sandwich somwhere between Johnnys bed and a chicken mcnugget and gave it to little Baby Duncan. Afterwards, Baby Duncan looked like the sandwich before:green.
When Lukie Skywalkie talked to my through his walkie talkie, I said it was aaaaaaaaall Hawkie Pawkies fault.
Oh, almost forgot: I CAN HEAR YOU Pat!!! I'm not an Emo! And I'm going to send Smarty-Party after you (when he finally gets over his broken heart and leaves Sienna alone. He didn't realize that he isn't four years old and didn't fit on Siennas lap until Sienna had two broken legs and everyone judged Hawkie-Pawkie).
And because I'm NOT an EMO, I'm going to serve PINK Sandwiches, and this time, I won't loose them under the couch!

From the comments and e-mails I'm getting, it looks like a lot of people missed the announcement about the next Psy/Changeling book, so here's a roundup of the info I've shared so far.

The book will feature Adria and Riaz. The Arrows will also play a strong role, as will Councilor Kaleb Krychek.

What I haven't shared until now, is that Hawke and Sienna will also have a very strong presence in this book. We're going to see the next step of their relationship, and I think the book will interlink very closely with Kiss of Snow in that sense.

I am, but well.. Nothing new. Why are you?

Two reasons: Riaz & Adria feels off to me and I was disappointed with KoS.

The reason I like/liked the Psy Changeling series is the world building was so complete and kept up with. However, while I liked a lot of things about it and enjoyed "seeing" the characters again, KoS felt, I don't know, sloppy to me. Like NS was trying to convey too much. Also, several things happened in it/didn't happen in it that are just too unrealistic - there weren't any deaths, the whole cryogenics thing, the changelings being too good, etc.

I also feel like the explanation for Hawke/Sienna wasn't believable enough. We've been told over and over mating is for life/mating is forever/mating blah blah blah and then suddenly there's a convenient loophole. I understand Nalini Singh's explanation, I just think it's a stretch. And now the next book seems to be doing the same thing - Riaz who supposedly found his mate is suddenly (probably) going to have a new one? It feels a little *whispers*cheap*whispers*
That is unless the woman Riaz was telling Indigo about was actually Adria.

I can come up with explanations for the nit-picky problems I have with books easily, especially when I love a series. However, the meticulous world-builing is what got me hooked on these books and now I'm having to convince myself to like the one thing I really like about the series. It's making me sad

Don't get me wrong - I'm still a fan. I just don't know if I still will be after the next book...

I agree KoS was rather choppy (not sloppy), but i guess i am one of the few people who is happy the mating thing isn't set in stone until it actually happens. i.e potential mates, etc. it always seemed that way to me, cos even if you found your mate and the female rejected the bond, then it would not take, and you both had to find other mates. stories where the mate is the mate is the mate is the mate actually freak me out.

Plus Riaz and Matthias make me laugh, so I don't mind that he is getting his book... oh well, we'll see if Nalini manages to make it good.

Lady Jaye, I'm happy about that, too - I mean, I didn't like the mating thing at all and still don't. It's so.. unrealistic and although I love to escape in books, having guys like that as heroes is too much. So, that at least there is the possibility of more than one mate.. Yay!

I hope that the next book will make up for the things KOS lacked - That sounds way more evil that I meant it to be. KOS wasn't bad.
