ferdy, I'm going to go back and read your post a little later but I also finished my re-read last night.

One thing that really jumped out at me this time was how Riaz was consistently referred to as a "lone wolf" and how possessive and protective they are once they have chosen their woman. I guess this was to make us feel that Riaz will have the same level of possessive/protectiveness/commitment as a mate bonded changeling.

Right, so his lobe wolf status, can act as his 'mating bond' to her because the in love lone wolfs go into over drive with their possessiveness? I get that.
