Re: Introduce yourselves
Patricia : thanks ! I love your sig citation. Are you a Kenyon fan too ?
Elisabeth : Nice to meet you too ! ^^ I read them in English, like most of the romance series I follow. First because I can't wait for the French version to be published (sometimes we have to wait for YEARS for a good series to catch the publisher's eye), but mainly because I'm never quite satisfied with the translated text once I've read the English version (sorry for the translators, I know it's a difficult job, I just so much prefer reading novels in the original language).

I was. Lately not so much, but I think there are some great things to be found in her books, even though they aren't as good anymore. Well, no, not as good.. There just isn't anything *new*. Still reading her books, though. : )
And I'm the same. I can't read the German translations anymore. *sigh*
Re: Introduce yourselves
interesting and completely understandable, I started reading the english versions ´cause I couldnt wait for the german translation

Re: Introduce yourselves
Patricia : I know what you mean. Lately I'm more interested in the background characters, universe and behind-the-scene scenario in SK's works, than in the books' stories and main characters. But I continue to religiously read every novel, because I'm addicted to that universe (and because her work was my first introduction to paranormal romance <3).
Ah, we non-British Europeans fans are all the same, I think ^^ Once hooked in Nalini's stories, we can't wait anymore, knowing there is another book coming up, we have to read it asap.

Yeah. I think we all feel the same way... In my case, I'm just using other authors to keep my busy until the next Nalini story comes up LOL. Although I'm not getting really into any of them right now Nalini did really spoil me with her stories.
Re: Introduce yourselves
Tja, I think, that could describe it very well...Nalini´s books are somehow like a disease, once hooked, once infected, you´re not able to let go or no choice of getting cured

Hello! Newbie Here.
Hello! I've just joined, so please forgive any goof ups on my part. I'm a bit of an Internet klutz at times.
Anyway, I am Broke Student Number 23, but I'll respond to Broke or Fru-Fru (blame the second one on my friends.) As my name implies, I'm going to school right now, though it's just a community college at the moment. I'm stuck between studying to be an editor, or getting into scary awesome stuff like theoretical physics.
The big reason I've joined this forum is feed back actually. I'm very interested in Singh's Angel series, and a few days ago, started wondering about the world the angels, vamps, hunters, and humans lived in. For example, did World Wars I and II happen? Or did the angels interfere and smooth things over before it blew out of control? Things like that make me geek out, so I'm hoping to hear back from you all, once I've figured out how to make a thread.
Whoops, didn't mean to make this so long. I'll just leave this hear for now! Nice to meet you all!

Re: Introduce yourselves
Hi BrokeStudent!
I don't know the answer to your questions about how perfectly parallel the Singh GH world is to our own. (I'd guess somewhat parallel but wouldn't count on major world events like WWI or WWII having occurred since the Cadre could step in.) It would be an interesting question to ask Nalini though. She just yesterday answered 10 random questions from readers on her blog. You could try posting it over there.

Re: Introduce yourselves
Hi Broke! I wondered something similiar. There were wars and maybe they happened around the same time (for example the war that has been mentioned in Mine To Possess) but I can't see Hitler in this world - Why be an antisemite if there are Psy and Changelings?
If I were you I'd definitely email Nalini. She is always very kind and replies to all questions - at least that's my impression so far. And if you ask her, pulease share the response somewhere here!
Hope you'll have as much fun here as -at least- I have! ;D

Oh? Where can I find this blog? I'm rather new to the fandom, so I get lost easy.

Ah, it appears we have a slight miscommunication going on. I've only ever read Singh's Guild Hunter series, and haven't picked up her Changeling series yet. But I can imagine the existence of Psys and Changelings could create some interesting butterfly effects thoughout history. (An alternate universe geek? Why, whatever gave you that idea? )
And thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely consider it! I just hope I won't be too much of a pest...

Re: Introduce yourselves
BrokeStudent, Nalini Singh's blog can be found here:
http://www.nalinisingh.blogspot.com/
She updates it frequently and has a nice website with all kinds of fun stuff, including bonus extras and excerpts and snippets from what she's currently working on. Chapter 1 from Archangel's Storm was posted earlier today. Here is her contact info on her main website at www.nalinisingh.com:
http://www.nalinisingh.com/contact.php
She has answered a couple of emails that I've sent her. It might take several weeks as she's busy but I think she tries to personally answer all her emails.
Also, if you haven't read Psy-Changeling, you are in for a treat! It's my favorite series right now. GH is darker, grittier. Psy-Changeling is more romance with a HEA at the end of each. Set in an alternate universe around 2070. Love it.

Re: Introduce yourselves
Hey Fru-Fru,
I have been wondering the same for the Psy Universe.
But then found, she solved it rather cleverly, adding another major conflict in the 100 years, that have been significant for the story.
Nifty. Hehe.
But that´s an interesting question.
Gonna add this one to my "Questions to ask in June list"
