Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
Well, Hunter ended up with Corinne. I didn't care for Corinne and I thought it was ridiculous that she'd be held captive for decades and suffered years of torture, deprivation and rape and then . . . within DAYS she's having hot sex with Hunter. Please. It's my least favorite book of the series too and I had really been looking forward to it. I wanted Hunter to end up with someone amazing and charming and smart and strong who could introduce him to this world, instead of recovering, damaged, tortured Corinne.
You are right in that at the very end Dragos is defeated and Lucan addresses the U.N., outing the Breed so now everyone knows. I think it's a good idea. Now they can have regular humans to interact with and fight the Big Evil, set 20 years in the future in the next set of books. I think it's a better idea than just going on and on without any clear cut ending. At least, we got resolution and are now off with a whole new story arc but familiar characters in a familiar world.

Oops, correction about the Iron Seas series: the full length "The Iron Duke" was about Rhys and Mina. The sequel that came out late last year was "Heart of Steel" about Yasmeenn.
The novella that came out on August 7th. which is a follow up to Rhys and Mina, is titled "Mina Wentworth and the Invisible City".
There is another full length Iron Seas book coming out on Sept 4th entitled "Riveted".

Reading Heart of Steel atm. God, how can two characters be so perfect?
Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
Is that perfect in a good way, or in a "too good to be true" bad way lol?

In a good way! We're talking about my future wife, here, after all. Meljean would never fail me so much.

Good to hear! I haven't read it yet but if you are loving it so much then I will, maybe right before Riveted comes out. Love the title, it so works for the whole feel of the series.

Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
Duuude, I need Riveted. NOW. :'D
I've already read several of Jennifer Ashley's Shifter Unbound novels, but not the first yet. (Don't know why anymore, but something made me want to avoid it) So.. I read it this week, and liked it. Somehow there are few series that really make me pick up the sequels/prequels lately. Nothing grabbed my attention, either, so I read soo few books in the last months, it's sort of embarrassing. v_v
Only excuse I have is that my PC is metaphorically toast. Even my netbook is being a bitch. Arrgh! ;_; That obviously frustrates me, which in turn makes me unable to read. :'D
Any book-recommendations?

Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
I'm reading the latest Guardians of Eternity by Alexandra Ivy. Fear the Darkness. So far, so good. I like Caine and Cassandra. They are pretty much together from the very first page so the tension is all about the overall story arc that appears to be coming to a conclusion. Every previous H and h seem to be making an appearance in this book which is kind of fun. I'm only about 65% of the way into this one so I don't know how much of a cliff-hanger it is but I have heard there will be a 10th book in the series out next year.
I heard from another online friend who got an ARC of Riveted that it was really good. Started a bit slow but picked up and was very satisfying.

I just finished Celebrity in Death, it was nice to see Eve actually solve a case without shedding blood for the first time...I also finished the story arc for Angela Knight's Mater series too, fast reads and I mostly use them as mindless entertainment in between releases.

Angela Knight is an author on my tbr list. Mindless entertainment as in.. Lara Adrian? Or more the Lynsay Sands type of author? Sherrilyn Kenyon? J.R. Ward?

I've never read any of the In Death series. I keep meaning too though as I know people love Eve and Rourke and I almost feel like I know them since they are referred to so many times!
I just finished G.A. Aiken's (aka Shelley Laurenston's) latest Dragon Kin book and it was underwhelming. Pretty entertaining overall but the romance was weak and, since this was Izzy and Eibhear's book, that was a huge disappointment for me.

Probably going to start Maya Banks "Never Seduce A Scot". I read her KGI series which is a lot of fun but have never read any of her Scottish historicals.

I have yet to read any Lora Leigh. If I ever read one, I want it to be scandalizing, though, or else my expectations.. :'D What's the biggest, baddest Lora Leigh book?
And Jane, oh yeah. Those little teasers everywhere..
Something I'm not overly proud to admit: I want to read Jamie McGuire's Walking Disaster.

Patricia, if you want true scandal go with Loving Lies...that one is pretty much porn with a plot!!

Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
Hahahaha, you know, I'll read it to my friend, since I plan to do this 30 days/30 bets or 52 weeks/52 bets thing. It's going to be brilliant. :'D Thank you!
Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
ei, read the first of the trilogy from Lora Leigh...öhm, it´s called...Dangerous Games...I love it...actually I love the whole Trilogy
I just finished Jeanine Krock - Feenorakel (Fairy Oracle), are her books in English availble?
tja, well, ähm, I liked it, I also liked the first 3 books from this series...but I dunno, sometimes I think she could write a little more...specific..hmm, like someones talking and walking around and the next second this person is getting free from an embrace....is that somehow clear? sometimes I think she´s too rough in her writing...
Pat whats that 30 days/30 bets thing?

Sarkykeshy: I'm all for Patricia Briggs and Kim Harrison. Haven't read many JD Robb books so far, and no Thea Harrison, but that shall soon be changed.
Elisabeth: It's a sort of event that makes it possible for you to dare yourself to do things. Like, often, we need excuses to skinnydip or hug a stranger, we need more than an "Because I want to". And 30 days/30 bets.. Well, you can probably guess how it works. You ask friends, or make a list yourself, or both. You bet yourself, or they bet/dare you. You might do it for a good cause, and say that, if you bet with money, that money will be donated, etc. - A friend of mine and I came up with it, so it's nothing official.
I read one or two books by Jeanine Krock, and I remember that I didn't like at least one of them very much. The writing style was weird, like it hadn't been edited enough. Yeah, I think I know what you mean: People are doing something, then they do something else, but something in between is missing, which confuses the reader?

I really like Thea Harrison's Elder Races series. The first one, Dragon Bound, is the best but she is a really good writer so they are all enjoyable.
