Where are you?
Laying low, it seems, till ToN starts making a more serious appearance.

One book that I found out a few weeks ago is Night Reigns by Dianne Duvall. It's the second book in the Immortal Guardians series, and it's really good, can't wait for the third one that comes out in October.
Maybe when someone receives arc's of ToN the frenzy will start again... in my case I just can't wait for the Sienna/Hawke's parts in the book... and Kaleb's.... The main couple doesn't interest me much... Adria... we don't know much about her, and the whole Riaz/Indigo/Adria... it's... weird.

Then let's just hope someone gets an ARC real fast. (*cries a little* I don't think I'll get my hands on an ARC this year (Damn it. Now I know how the rest of you felt last time.. BUT I was so nice and sent mine away and gave everyone many, many quotes.. Good Karma right? So if anyone here gets an ARC, I expect them to borrow it to me. *g*) which makes me go crazy already. This year, though, I'll probably be even more crazy about the next Guild Hunter book after the awesomeness that was Dmitri's book. XD)
I miss all the.. I don't know.. hm, it was so funny and crazy here, you know? Not that it isn't now, but compared to March last year? Yeah.
Immortal Guardians.. Isn't there a series by Ivy Alexandra (Alexandra Ivy? Damn these names) with the same name? Someday soon I'll just lay here, murmering stuff like "Chronicles of Immortality" or.. "City of the Vampire's Bride's Immortal Archangel's Stormy Sultan, Book Forty in the Otherworlders Diary of Peculiar Things Series" .. Everything sounds so alike these days. XD But you made me curious. Definitely going to check these books out.

Me and Norovirus, we are real tight, yo. Gah. I hate this. Ooh, Laurel K Hamilton is the one who turned the great series into porn, right? I haven't read her books yet but someone said that Guilty Pleasures was really good but the more recently published novels in the Anita Blake series suck balls. And wow, I didn't know Meagan Hatfield. Enemies falling in love? Heh, you have to tell me what you think about the novel. I usually don't like this trope, but who knows? Maybe it's something fresh. :3

I've read the first novel in that series! The translation was hilarious, but I sort of loved it. Lady Jaye wants me to read Archangel, so I'll read that one asap, but I think I should read some Wilks again in the near future. <3
Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
oh, poor one, I´m working in a "Private Practice" ( ;-)), well kind of, how can I translate Arztpraxis into proper english? hmm, surgery maybe...naja, what I wanted to say was, I know a lot of patients having a bad cold and having gastrointestinal (what a word^^) problems, so you´re definetly not aloneMe and Norovirus, we are real tight, yo
ja, well, her books are really, hmm, how to say....hmm...hot...^^Ooh, Laurel K Hamilton is the one who turned the great series into porn, right?
the main, female, charcter wants to become pregnant and has to sleep every night with her "harem" and some of the scenes are really, pheeew, ääähm, hot, it´s a really interesting book and I love the fisrt 2 books, but I have to say, sometimes it´s hard to go on with the book, ´cause it´s always the same...she wants, needs to get pregnant, she´s heir to a throne and has enemies, she has magic, but doesn´t know which....maybe I won´t read the other books about Merry Gentry....We´ll see

Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
If you read it anytime soon, please let me know how it is! And oops, okay, eerrm.. The way you just explained it, I don't think it's a book for me. XD
Finished Fair Game by Patricia Briggs last night/this morning. I don't know with whom I've talked about it here last year, but there were several people who said I should give Anna and Charles a second chance, and read their story in English. (I didn't like the two first books, but read them in German and suspected that coulda been the reason) So in January I reread the first two books (and novella) and liked both of them much better & Fair Game was even better still. <3
Whoop! Now I really think I should read the three Mercy Thompson books, which I haven't read in English yet, again, just to see if those are MUCH better in the original language, too, or not. : D

Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
To be honest, that is actually often the case when I read books. With few exceptions, translations generally seem less good, because words don't really have the same meaning in different languages. I, You, Or, And, Hello and words like that, yes, but from that point on, many words have implied meanings that don't exist in for example French etc.
Take Soft. Zart? Leise? Weich? Cute. Süß? Niedlich? Putzig? And authors play with language, so it's pretty much possible that I woulda enjoyed many books I read when I was younger a lot more if I had read them in the original language.
Then again, a horrible book won't be great just because you read it in the original language, yeah.
I wonder what people think about Kerstin Gier's Ruby Red & Kai Meyer's Arcadia Awakens. If I had the money, I'd probably read them in English and German just to see if the (English) translation sucked. XD
Especially because I simply like English as a language. It is sometimes less bold/hard than German. It puts a distance between me and the things I hear or say, more so than German does. (I sometimes don't think in words at all) But it also feels a little.. flatter. As if, if you could grab a language, German had many layers, almost as much as some Asian languages, and English was a little more shallow. Dunno how to explain it. And why am I talking so much? Mhe. -_-'

Yep, she was: Goodreads or Amazon
I think some German bookbloggers bought both editions of her books. And Carina from ItsAllAboutBooks, another German blogger, bought the English copy alone of Kai Meyer's Arkadien Erwacht.
And thank you, too. Now I'm feeling a little less horrible about posting so much. XD
Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
no problem, love to help
by the way, I read and finished the book, I told you about...ähm...Meagan Heatfield, Shadow of the vampire...
I loved it, it was really breathtaking, sexy, steamy...phuh, and ähm...hmm, the enemy thing was really cool, I love that kind of stories...the only thing, besides nearly every chapter starts or ends with someone kissing or heaving sex, I found strange was that the dragons were very colorful...I never thouight of a dragon being puple or green...but, that was something new and I would love to go on with another book of her, the problem with tha is that she only published 2 more stories for e-book and neither was the storie I wanted to hear/ read about...but maybe I´m lucky and one day she wirtes anotehr book about these dragons and vampires

Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
Well, I just finished reading "Deep Kiss of Winter" which is a novella by Kresley Cole in her Immortals After Dark series. It's the only book or novella in the IAD world that I had yet to read. It was fun and nice to finish up the complete story of the Wroth brothers, those wiley vampires.
No idea what I'm going to read next. Avoiding the next BDB book like the plague at this point. I may start my entire series re-read of Psy-Changeling as there are 9 weeks to go until Tangle is out and I should be able to read 1 per week easy! Or I may wait and read just the wolf centered books.

Started reading Hallows. Disappointed. What is with this plain style? Not everyone can pull Hemingway, and I did not even like his way of writing.

Hallows? @ Jelena
Lulu, same here. I don't know whether I'll read the new book.. I suppose I will.. But.. Blargh! I plan to reread the Psy-Changeling books, too. It's been some months since I last did so.
Just finished the fourth Highlander novel by Karen Marie Moning. Her timetravel element makes no sense, but the rest of the book was pretty good. Anyone read it? Anyone here who can explain her nonsense timetravel to me? Arrrgh!

Patricia, I've read all of KMM's Highlander books. The 4th is Kiss of the Highlander? I think that's the one that Gwen finds Drustin in the cave?

Fluff, no beating you up! I just can't see Tohr with anyone but Wellsie. How exactly do you have a Hero totally in love with one woman and mourning her death at the beginnng of a book only to have him in love with someone else by the end?

Yes, she is moving the series to UF (which is fine if you like that) but still trying to hang on to her traditional romance readers who want a HEA at the end of every book. Except the latest HEA's don't feel very warm and cozy. The soap opera has been getting to me. When you only get 1 book per year that's a long time to wait for more Qhuinn and Blay. God, I wish she would just finish their story and get it done.

Yep, exactly!
And I'm sorry, but the world doesn't have enough substance to replace the romance aspect.
It works just fine with Fallen Angels, but BDB was never layed out that way.
And the romance part is simply flat and lukewarm.
Time for Blay and Qhuinn, so I can finally quit reading the series

Re: Other Awesomely Awesome Books We've Read or Want to Read.
She's supposed to announce who is next today I think. If it isn't Qhuinn and Blay, she'll have a revolt on her hands lol! I know someone through goodreads who is going to her book signing.
There is some Qhuinn/Blay in Reborn, several important scenes apparently but something kind of upsetting does happen as well, which is what Ward warned people about a year or so ago.
