Are we even thinking about the possibility that the Ghost is Zaid? Of course, there is the small issue of him surviving the last 100+ years hidden from those who knew him, but he is mentioned far too often to be just some guy from the past. Or at least I got that impression.

... if Judd was right about the date of Zaid's death, the other male's lifetime would've intersected with Alice's.

also, i don't think what little we know of Zaid fits with the bits and pieces we know about the Ghost.

I agree that the way Nalini has mentioned Zaid in 4 books now is intriguing, seems to point to his being significant in the present. Or maybe it is because the Arrows are preparing to break some of the founding reasons for the Arrows (Zaid established them to ensure success of his parents' vision. And he himself cleaned up the failures of the first tries at the Silence Protocol. This is in Caressed by Ice.)

However, as the Ghost is teleport-capable, Zaid can't be the Ghost (even if he managed to survive to the present) as he was a cardinal Tp-Psy with ability in mental combat, no mention of Tk abilities at all.

Nalini told Fluff at the Love Letter Convention a couple weeks ago that Zaid is dead, as in really most sincerely dead. So, he's not the Ghost.

After rereading everything, I still think the Ghost has to be Kaleb. He's the one that fits the most w/ the clues. I'd be shocked if it was anyone else. At the same time, if it's not Kaleb, then I wouldn't be totally disappointed, as I'd be looking forward to 2 books instead of 1.


As to whom he's been tracking, it's most likely Sahara or that Swan girl. Sahara makes the most sense to me, but I'd be happy either way. Otherwise, "she" could be a family member....

I like the idea of it being Sahara because it's a great reason to pull Faith and Vaughn and Anthony into the story.

I think it would be weird if Sahrara would be "her". That's like: Omg-so-not-a-surprise.

Sahara wouldn't at all be a surprise to us who visit this forum and who are avid (uh, fanatic ) readers of the series. But a lot of readers probably don't remember Sahara from a 2 line mention of her back in VoH. Another couple of groups I visit, there are always questions about who Sahara is and why she might be Kaleb's mystery girl when her name comes up.

Exactly. If I wasn't obsessed (lol), I don't think I would have thought of her. In fact, I think it was from some website (Dear Author, perhaps) that brought it to my attention way back when (and how it fits w/ Kaleb's star & with the "missing" time frame). Sahara is only mentioned once in the series, as an afterthought. Nalini also refers to how F-Psy are sometimes held captive. In addition, I think Nalini has planned Sahara and Kaleb from the beginning, as they are both introduced in the same book. She also, way back when in a Q&A, said that there would be a Psy/Psy couple in the future.

I do find the Swan girl to be another likely scenario, as we know something probably happened w/ Kaleb and her from that sentence in CBI. If anything, Nalini links them together even more. However, I still think Sahara is more likely since she's in the Net.

Shoshanna/Tatiana was rumored to keep a F-psy for own amusement (I'd probably do the same ) I guess it's Sahara

when Councilor Marshall is killed (in MtP) the Ghost is having lunch with a minor official as an alibi. don't know about you but I can't see Vasic doing lunch with anyone, much less with a non-Arrow. so....?!!

He is mentioned in several other books too.

He has a connection to Alice of some kind, it would be great if they had a hidden romance and if Zaid isn't dead and that can be rekindled.

I like the idea of Zaid being alive too and maybe pairing him up with Alice but Nalini said he's dead, as in really truly dead.

I always thought that maybe he had a sister and that maybe that was who he was searching for. But it's almost certain that it's Sahara NightStar.

Couldn't it be possible that Kaleb is partly a changeling? Even if it is pretty unlikely that a changeling and a psy would have a cardinal ... boy's pretty unlikely himself. That would explain his "parents". If someone (his paper-parents) created him the same way Amara created Keenan, everything would be possible. How great would that be?

Maybe yeaaars ago and the DNA lay dormant, but it still IS there or whatever. I'd read FanFiction about it.
