I've been through it twice now...and I'm not seeing too many candidates for the Ghost. Most of the male psy on that list are dead. :-/

Interesting idea. I had not thought of that. I think Aden's power is some type of telepathy, since he was taught by Walker. I believe it is mentioned that his telepathic touch is so subtle, none of his other trainers even noticed it and he was misclassified as a medic. Maybe he is able to exert a mindwashing influence without having to get through shields.

Aden isn't actually hiding. The thing with him is, that he's extremely subtle and his telepathy is very light-footed.
You don't know, when Aden just slipped through your shields (see Kaleb in ihm.. BoJ im think, it was)
And Aden doesn't mind control people, they just do what he wants ^^

Re Aden, these are two of the relevant statements about him:

In Tangle of Need Chapter 8:

"Chosen for Arrow training only because his parents had both been Arrows, Aden was officially a field medic, his telepathic touch so subtle, he’d always been classified in the wrong—much lower—Gradient. Walker Lauren was the first person who had understood the dangerous power of Aden’s mind … and he had kept Aden’s secret, taught him skills Aden used to this day."

In Kiss of Snow Chapter 54:
"Judd thought of his brother’s brilliance at telepathic deceptions, without which they would’ve never have escaped the Net, and wondered just how Aden had utilized those skills."

So Aden is probably classified as being like a midrange telepath when he's actually high gradient.

He was as a child. By now it's known, that he is a high level telepath.

I don't think, it' s actually a certain designation or anything.
It's just, that he is very very subtle.
You wont notice, when he slips through your shields or anything

Who says that what Jon's ability as a forgotten can't be emulated as something similar in a Psy?

There is not much information about Aden's psy powers: his designation is not given (but it is assumed he is Tp-Psy because Ming identified that as Aden's primary talent in Blaze of Memory), nor his gradient, nor any other subspecialties. We know he is a field medic, but that does not mean he has M-Psy talents.

His abilities in telepathic deceptions we can assume from Walker being his teacher and Aden's admission that he has used what Walker has taught him to save the life and sanity of numerous arrows (in Kiss of Snow). And there is yet no explanation in any of the books nor novellas as to what "telepathic deceptions" are.

There was a time I wanted Aden to be the Ghost... but that seems improbable now.

Aden 8+ tp and 3.6 (if I remember right) m-psy ability, with the actual talent of healing.
Adens actual talent in tp is the very subtlety.
A tp can take over anothers mind, when he makes it through the shields.
Just Aden does so without anybody noticing.

Ghost has to be someone who is rather well known...In KoS,while thinking of his identity, Judd said that "Even Father Xavier Perez, the third part of their curious triumvirate, had never made the connection."And for him to make the connection,Ghost has to be someone he (and the rest of the population) had at least heard of...And I don't think Vasic fits,as almost nobody even knows he exists...But at the same time Kaleb is probably too well known...It's all so very frustrating.

Maharet - True, when I was a firm Kaleb believer I actually thought about that statement, too. But we don't know just how much Perez really knows about Judd and the other Psy. I mean, maybe the 'connection' is just "It's an Arrow", though yeah.. that quote doesn't make it seem like that.

Alas.. I iz confused.

I was speculating lately about the Ghost.. my instinct after reading ToN solidified (for me, anyway) that it is Vasic. The parallels in which they think, the sole focus in being able to save the PsyNet (ultimately the innocent Psy who know nothing of the corruption within it)...

I had a discussion with a few friends the other day discussing how the Ghost feels about Silence. I know the Ghost has stated (in ToN and in other novels) that he cannot break his Silence because it would be detrimental to the Net.. but I don't believe he is hook, line, sinker on keeping the Psy a Silent race. And with how Vasic looks to Aden and Judd... seeing how they are happy and could be happy...

I wish I could just plug a USB port to my brain and let my thoughts flow into this little comment box. It would be a hell of a lot easier than trying to write it. Haha.

I used to be SURE that it was Kaleb but I think I may be jumping on the Vasic train at this point. If Kaleb's book is up next (and we don't know that it is) and the Ghost's book is supposed to be last in this arc, then that would eliminate Kaleb as a possibility. This is also why I think that maybe Aden will be the next book so that Vasic and Kaleb will still both be contenders and keep us all talking. That would also give Kaleb a really big storyline in the next book, as we find out who this girl is and she starts to recover.

I think it's possible that the Ghost's identity will be revealed earlier than we think too. It would be pretty anti-climatic if Aden gets his book next, then Kaleb and then we would all know that the Ghost is Vasic since he would be last. Wouldn't be much of a big reveal.

The more I read all the books,the more I'm convinced that nether Kaleb nor Vasic are the Ghost.Kaleb is just too obvious a choice,and I don't think that Vasic is powerful enough.The Ghost has to be someone extremely powerful if the survival of the entire Net depends on him and his Silence,and Vasic is not even a Cardinal...
